For a little while before starting at Gnomon, I worked on a 3D physics puzzle game in Unreal with a friend, tentatively called "Aya's Challenge." It was based on the mechanic of maneuvering a ball through a stage by tilting the map. That ball eventually became Aya, a cyborg armadillo. Several levels were built, but a working build of the game was never released. It was a great opportunity for me to teach myself both substance designer and painter.
